In the central Hessian Büdingen a car has remained in a curious position after an accident. The police reported that the car lay obliquely on two other vehicles. Accordingly, an accident was the cause of the "unusual parking position".

According to investigators, the driver had lost control of the car on nearby Bundessstrasse. He drove onto a bike path, crashed into a crash barrier and hurled his way down to the lower parking lot.

"After the accident, the driver made off and took the license plate of his car," said a police spokeswoman. The officials nevertheless identified the owner of the vehicle: a 24-year-old from Büdingen, who had already noticed the evening before, when he had damaged a parked car with a wooden wedge. He was found with a half-empty schnapps bottle in his hand in the center of Büdingen.

The driver's license was ensured. The police investigated for drunk driving, accident flight and violation of the compulsory insurance law - the Polo probably had no insurance coverage. The damage is estimated at 8500 euros.
