Pamela Anderson has left a donation gala for children in need, after a portion of the money collected there for the reconstruction of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris was determined.

"The children of Marseille would have needed 100,000 euros more than the cathedral, for which several billionaires have donated over one billion euros," wrote the former "Baywatch" star in a Twitter message.

Last night we attended @OM_Officiel annual Gala to help raise money for youth suffering in Marseille -
full of good intentions.
While raising a meaningful amount of € for a great cause.
Then
'big surprise auction item'
to raise money for
rebuilding Notre Dame ???

Anderson had visited with his partner, the footballer Adil Rami, the annual gala of his club Olympique Marseille. Actually, the event was dedicated to needy children. The president of the club, Frank McCourt, had announced after the fire of Notre-Dame, however, that part of the donations should flow into the reconstruction.

I hope they will reconsider
and give to where it is needed.
to the community
here in Marseilles where it was intended.
and
would go
much further
in making lives better

She was "angry and disappointed," wrote the 51-year-old in another tweet, which has since been deleted according to the news agency dpa. She asked Rami if they could go - and would have done that eventually. The foundation of the club later only announced that at the gala on Tuesday evening a total of 439,760 euros have been collected.

Pamela Anderson: Outrage over Notre Dame donations

French President Emmanuel Macron wants to rebuild Notre-Dame within five years. The government wants to introduce derogations to facilitate the implementation of the work on Notre-Dame. The bill introduced on Wednesday would allow the government to override certain rules on public procurement and laws protecting cultural assets.
