Al-Ittihad Al-Youm won the "Best Arabic Article" award in the media competition organized by the World Village at its 23rd session, in which a large number of Arab and local newspapers and media participated.

Shimaa Yahia won the award for the theme "Global Village: 166 Days Between the World's Cultures". The awards were distributed at a ceremony held yesterday, in the presence of a large number of partners of the global village, media and public figures. The ceremony began with the highlight of the 23rd season, with a speech by Badr Anouhi, the CEO of the World Village, announcing the date of the 24th season of the village, which will start on October 29, 2019 and run for 159 days until 4 April 2020.

The International Village started its ceremony with a documentary presentation of the most prominent stations in the 23rd season, and then began to provide commemorative shields to a number of government departments and agencies in recognition of their efforts during the season to ensure that the activities of the village are unique and safe for their guests. In its 23rd season, the world village received a record number of more than seven million guests in 166 days, up 16% from the previous season. The season witnessed more than AED 3 billion worth of commercial transactions, more than 3,500 sales outlets, and a 78-country culture offering. The Global Village has provided its services through a joint team of more than 10,000 partners and employees from 95 nationalities. The global village also improved its guest index to 9.1 out of 10, compared to 9.0 from 10 in the previous season, indicating the qualitative improvements it has made.
