The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities announced the success of the Czech archaeological expedition in Abusir, north of Saqqara, Giza governorate, headed by Miroslav Barta, in the discovery of a huge limestone and mud brick cemetery for a man named Kair S. Ka Re.

The secretary of the Egyptian Supreme Council for Antiquities, Mustafa Waziri, said in a press statement today that the owner of the tomb "Kaer S" was carrying several titles in the era of the fifth family, including overseeing the king's work as stated in inscriptions decorating the walls of the cemetery.

He added that the archaeological mission will complete its work to uncover the rest of the cemetery and the completion of archaeological documentation.

For his part, the head of the Central Department of Antiquities of Cairo and Giza Adel Okasha said that during the excavations, the mission found inside the main well of the cemetery a statue of pink granite broken into two parts.

He added that the statue represents the owner of the cemetery sitting on a small seat, without a footstool and wearing the short knight and wig of hair granular, and engraved on the seat name of the cemetery owner and titles, including "the only one" and "the secrets of the House of Sabah" and "beloved of his master."
