Fans of Johnny Hallyday, but especially enthusiasts of cars, feasted Sunday at an auction near Toulouse, acquiring memories of the time when the singer was racing at the wheel of a Ford Mustang.

"This is a good result, almost everything has been sold," said the auctioneer, Stanislas Machoi who orchestrated the auction at the castle of Lasserre in Montastruc-la-Conseillère, Haute-Garonne.

In 1967, he played in the Monte Carlo Rally

In 1967, the singer, passionate about cars, competed in the Monte Carlo Rally at the wheel of the 105 Mustang, as well as two hill races and a race on the Linas-Montlhéry circuit. The plate 105 was stolen by fans at the arrival of the rally of Monte-Carlo. The Automobile Club of this city had two made in 1980, one of which, signed by the two pilots, was auctioned. She was sold at 1,800 euros. An original model of the Mustang, which was never marketed but only given to a few dealers in the United States for their customers, was also awarded at 1,800 euros.

Duplicate of the singer's driver's license

The objects, some forty, were all from the personal collection of Henry Chemin, "director of the communication of Ford France and himself professional pilot", according to Me Macho. The duplicate driving license, in the name of Jean-Philippe Smet, had been made by Henry Chemin, Johnny Hallyday having misplaced the original. Presented as a "single piece", the document was sold at 2,800 euros.

In the middle of big cars ... a Smart!

Although crazy big engine, Johnny also had in the garage of his property in Marnes-la-Coquette, in the Hauts-de-Seine, a Smart, acquired in May 2000. She left for 6,500 euros. Press articles on the singer's career as a pilot, a press book, letters or photos have also found takers.
