Canadian actress Stefanie Sherk is dead. Her husband, Demian Bichir, announced this in an emotional statement on Instagram. "Hereby I explain with great pain that our beloved wife Stefanie Sherk, my beloved wife fell asleep peacefully on the 20th of April", Bichir wrote under a picture of Sherk. The actress was 37 years old.

Dear friends, On behalf of the Sherk and the Bichir Nájera families, it is with inconceivable pain that I announce that on April 20, 2019, our dearest Stefanie Sherk, my beloved and loving wife, passed away peacefully. It has been the saddest and the toughest time of our lives and we do not know how to do it. Stefanie's beautiful, angelic and talented presence wants to be immensely missed. We want to hold Stefanie in our hearts forever. We thank everybody for their prayers and we respectfully ask for your understanding so we grieve in peace and privacy in these incredibly difficult times. It's our sincerest hope that our beautiful Stefanie, my angel and love of my life, wants rest in eternal peace. "It was the saddest and hardest time of our lives, we do not know how much time we will need to take this pain," the post said. Bichir hopes that the "love of my life" will rest in eternal peace. What Sherk died of did not reveal to Bichir.

Sherk, who also worked as a model and author, had a small appearance in the movie "Valentine's Day", as well as she appeared in an episode of "CSI: Cyber". She played alongside her husband in 2016 in the movie "Un Cuento de Circo & A Love Song". Bichir himself was nominated in 2012 for Best Actor in "A Better Life" for the Oscar.
