Antonio Hurtado is an expert in hydrogen and energy technology at TU Dresden. In Poland, which currently has no nuclear power plants, six reactors are to be built in the next few years.

The next reactor in Slovakia is scheduled to go online in 2025. For Hurtado, the reasons are obvious. “I also wish we could rely exclusively on renewable energies,” says Hurtado. But that will be difficult: complete decarbonization by 2045 will hardly be possible without nuclear power.
