Pensioner's car left the road in downtown Magdeburg on Tuesday evening and ended up on the terrace of a café. Two pedestrians, ages 52 and 57, were seriously injured.

The 70-year-old driver was uninjured, but was in shock and was taken to hospital as a precaution. His car was totaled and transported away. Parts of the building were damaged in the accident, according to initial estimates, the material damage is around 60,000 euros. The café is located on Cathedral Square right next to the state parliament.
