Young Bosnian girl shaved: one year in prison including four months suspended for her attackers

The Besançon criminal court sentenced the parents, uncle and aunt of a shorn Bosnian Muslim girl on Friday evening because she was dating a young Christian Serb to one year of imprisonment, including four months suspended.

The court also issued a five-year ban on French territory against the parents of the 17-year-old girl.

This affair had aroused strong emotion in France and even abroad, recalling the fate of thousands of women shorn during the Liberation for having maintained a liaison with a German soldier under the Occupation.

"To punish her, so that she doesn't go out anymore"

At the hearing, the young girl and the family of her boyfriend, present at the time of the facts, on August 17, claimed that she had been taken to her room, molested by the four adults and shaved by her uncle.

The parents, the uncle and the aunt admitted for their part one or two slaps, at most, and maintained that it was her father who had shaved her to "punish her, so that she does not go out again" afterwards. a four-day runaway with the young man, three years his senior.

They opposed their marriage "because of religion".

"My parents punched and kicked me," said the victim during his interview with investigators, explaining that they were against their marriage and that they were dating "because of religion".

But members of his family disputed this version, the uncle believing that "when a young underage girl does a big mistake, her hair is cut, it's like a fine".

"The fact of having the hair cropped, when it is imposed, it takes away our beauty, our femininity, it is besides the symbol that they wanted to pass", lambasted the lawyer of the victim, Me Céline Party.
