Most jobs have disappeared in the hospitality industry in Kalmar County.

There, the number of jobs decreased by 1218 compared to a year earlier.

The corresponding figure for Kronoberg County is 881. This is shown by figures from Statistics Sweden compiled by Visita.

- The restrictions have hit the hospitality industry hard and it means lost jobs to an extent we have never seen before, says Jonas Siljhammar, CEO of Visita.

Young people are worst affected.

Every fifth person under the age of 26 who worked in the hospitality industry in one of the counties lost their job last year.

- The crisis in the hospitality industry continues. More jobs are at risk, not least for young people, unless promised support is paid out immediately and the restrictions are eased, says Jonas Siljhammar.
