Yemen.. Fighting escalates in Taiz and Marib, with the start of military consultations in Oman

Violent battles were renewed, at dawn today, between the forces of the Yemeni army and the resistance, and the terrorist Houthi militia, against the backdrop of the latter's launching of large-scale attacks on the forces' positions on the fronts of the air camp, Manaqif, and the Green Valley northwest of Taiz.

Field sources stated that the battles came after the Houthi militia's intense bombing of the army and resistance sites in those sites, as well as towards residential neighborhoods north of the city of Taiz, using various types of weapons, including drones.

The sources reported that the air defenses of the army and the resistance were able to shoot down a Houthi booby-trapped march on the northern front of the city, which was loaded with a large amount of explosives.

During the past hours, the militias bombed residential neighborhoods in the vicinity of Jabal Jarra, north of the city, and also bombed army and resistance positions in the Al-Dhabab front, west of Taiz, as part of their daily violations of the international armistice.

While the media center of the Yemeni army announced that it had monitored 200 violations of the armistice by the Houthis during the past two days on the fronts of Hodeidah, Taiz, Al-Dhalea, Hajjah, Saada, Marib and Al-Jawf, the media center of the Taiz axis reported that the Houthis' violations of the armistice in Taiz since its inception amounted to 2,278 violations on various fronts of the governorate.

The Taiz axis confirmed that the militias continued to violate the armistice in Taiz on a daily basis, as well as their continued development of sites in the seam areas, and the deployment of weapons and fighters arriving sequentially from Ibb governorate, in an indication of their readiness for a future battle.

The escalation of hostilities in Taiz comes with the continued faltering of a solution under the auspices of the United Nations regarding the opening of roads in the governorate, and with the start of military consultations between the government delegation and the militia delegation in Amman to discuss violations and the continuation of the truce.

In Marib, the Yemeni army and resistance forces thwarted an attempt to infiltrate Houthi elements towards their positions on the fronts of the mountainous and sandy axes, while Houthi combat movements were thwarted on the southern front, while the militias targeted army positions on the western front with artillery and booby-trapped marches, which caused the injury of four soldiers. In front of Almchah Serwah Directorate.

In Al-Dhalea, the militias targeted an ambulance with a projectile from a drone in the "Bab Taghloq" area, north of Qataba, which caused the injury of four doctors, in the latest violation of the armistice, and in a dangerous sign, especially since the bombing targeted doctors and an ambulance.

According to local sources, the militias have expanded their targeting in the north and west of Al-Dhalea, as their recent attacks targeted children while they were grazing sheep in Markhzeh, causing the injury of two children, as well as targeting residential villages and locations of the southern and joint forces in the seam areas, which led to the injury of five soldiers.

On the consultations to open roads in Taiz and other governorates, under the auspices of the United Nations, a source in the government delegation stated that the Houthi militias are trying to circumvent the proposal of the UN envoy in this regard, by seeking to open secondary roads unilaterally in Taiz, and that they are seeking to open two secondary roads to escape from Its commitment to implement the terms of the armistice related to roads and crossings.

He pointed out that the militias, during the past two days, submitted a response to the UN proposal, in which they agreed to open two roads in Taiz that do not include a main road, provided that the rest of the proposal is studied regarding other roads, which is an indication of an attempt to thwart the road consultations and circumvent the UN envoy’s proposal, and to register Local and military gains, as well as bidding on the proposal for the return of suspended flights between Sanaa and Cairo for security reasons.

In Hajjah, the militias carried out a show of fighters mobilized during the truce period, most of them children, while declaring the continuation of the process of mobilization and forced recruitment in the governorate areas to supplement the fronts of Haradh and the western coast, in a new escalating indicator.

In Amran, the militias blew up four houses of anti-Houthi opponents in Al-Asha district, in the second crime in the district within a month.
