Motohiro Shima, a 37-year-old catcher of professional baseball and Yakult, held a press conference and said, ``I have a feeling that I have done it,'' and announced that he would retire from active duty at the end of this season.

Shima joined Rakuten in 2007, and in 2013, as a career catcher, contributed to the team becoming number one in Japan for the first time.

He has been playing for Yakult since his last season, and has been a player-assistant coach this season, but has only played in one game so far.
