After youTubers Hugo Travers and Cyrus North, Yahoo France called on drummer Manu Katché to produce online videos, the web group announced on Monday, keen to develop more original content.

The musician Manu Katché, who played alongside Sting, Peter Gabriel or Alain Souchon, will thus set off to "meet personalities from diverse backgrounds, famous or anonymous, whose backgrounds are true sources of inspiration", specifies Yahoo in a statement.

Available in "ten days", according to Alexandre Delperier, director of content for Yahoo France, the first interview will be devoted to the French painter of Vietnamese origin Hom Nguyen.

Hugo Travers, whose youtube channel "Hugo Décrypte" has nearly 1 million subscribers, will continue to produce reports stamped Yahoo "on social subjects", like his immersion in a cannabis factory in Montreal , uploaded in July.

Cyrus North, followed by nearly 500,000 people on Youtube for his philosophy videos, examines environmental issues, such as the pollution of Lake Monte Neme in Spain.

The idea is to regularize these collaborations by posting between one and two videos per month or more, explains one within the group.

Yahoo France also plans to launch Déclic, a series of interviews painting "the portrait of those who dared to change everything overnight".

"We have a strategy based on two pillars: the aggregation of content" from other media and the development of "our own content," Alexandre Delperier told AFP.

"We are trying to go further in our editorial offer" by relying in particular on "the eyes of young people who want to make a difference", added Mr. Delperier, claiming an audience "more than doubled in a year" for the Yahoo News site.

Yahoo is a subsidiary of Verizon Media (formerly Oath), a division of the US operator Verizon.
