China News Service, Urumqi, August 8 (Reporter Qi Yaping) Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps will invest 19.165 million yuan to implement the project of returning grazing to grassland and complete 90,000 mu of artificial grass planting within the year. Among them, 18.4 million yuan was invested in the central budget, and 765,000 yuan was self-raised by enterprises.

  On the 8th, according to the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Forestry and Grassland Bureau, after soliciting opinions from the divisions and cities, the Bureau has recently implemented the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps’ return to grazing and grassland project in 2019. Public announcement will officially start the construction of the project.

  It is reported that the construction of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps’ grazing-returning-grass-returning project is all artificial grass planting. A total of 90,000 mu of artificial grass planting area has been implemented and will be completed within 2020. The implementation area includes the 22nd and 27th Regiment of the Second Division, the No. 2 Ranch of Yecheng of the Third Division, the Chuangjin Animal Husbandry Company of the Fourth Division, and the No. 1 Ranch of the 14th Division.

  The country started to implement the project of returning grazing to grassland in 2003. For more than 10 years, the Xinjiang Production Corps has achieved remarkable results. The implementation of this project has played a very important role in the grassland ecological environment of Xinjiang Corps and the sustainable development of animal husbandry, and has achieved good ecological, social and economic benefits.

  Xinjiang Corps has 36.24 million mu of natural grassland resources, of which 30.67 million mu can be used. Over the years, the state has successively implemented pastoral area development demonstrations, natural grassland protection, pasture fencing, returning grazing to grassland, grassland ecological protection subsidy and reward mechanism and other projects in Xinjiang Corps.
