On the evening of August 13, the Information Office of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region held a press conference on epidemic prevention and control.

At the meeting, Hu Zhichun, a member of the party group of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Health and Health Commission, briefed the basic situation of the epidemic in Xinjiang.

According to the analysis of epidemiological data, this round of epidemic mainly has the following characteristics: First, it is highly contagious and the transmission is hidden.

Some infected people have hidden transmission before the nucleic acid test result is positive.

Second, the speed of spread is fast.

Since July 30, the epidemic has spread to 13 prefectures and cities and 31 counties and cities.

The third is mainly clustered disease.

The initial stage of this round of epidemic mainly involves crowd gathering places such as freight yards.

Fourth, most of the infected people are asymptomatic.

Up to now, only 5 confirmed cases have been reported, all of which are asymptomatic infections transferred to confirmed cases, and the rest are asymptomatic infections.

Fifth, the communication relationship is complex, and multiple chains coexist.

Four chains of transmission have been identified in this round of the epidemic, and no obvious epidemiological link has been found among the chains.

At present, the epidemic situation in many places is still in the developing stage, the risk of social transmission has not been blocked, and the prevention and control situation is severe and complicated.
