The tagaday platform published its annual study of the most publicized people in the French press during the past year. To conduct this work, she analyzed articles from 3,000 newspaper titles and news websites. It is the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron who comes first. The tagaday platform publishes its annual study of the most publicized people in the French press, after analyzing the articles produced by 3,000 press titles and information website.

Just like last year, the most cited personality in the French press, all categories combined, is Emmanuel Macron.

This year again, there are less than 20% of women in the ranking.

18.5% to be precise, a figure lower than in 2020. And the ranking is like this year 2021: still marked by the Covid-19 (Olivier Véran, Minister of Health is fourth), but less than 'in 2020. Thus, the media doctors who had made a sensational entry last year are losing hundreds of places this time.

Athletes more cited than politicians

They fall in favor of political figures.

Logical, with the presidential election looming, and brings in the news its share of declarations of candidatures and primaries of political parties.

Sandrine Rousseau, for example, recorded the biggest progression in the ranking, gaining 1,245 places compared to 2021. 

Also note the very strong growth of sport.

The ranking has been established for nine years, and this is the first time that it has counted so many sports personalities.

The press even cites more athletes than politicians.

At the head of the sport category: Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi and Didier Deschamps. 

1,000 places won in one year for Marie Portolano

For the culture and media category, we find Stéphane Bern at the top, followed by Cyril Hanouna and Nagui.

Three animators therefore, who arrive in front of personalities from the world of culture. 

Journalist Marie Portolano is experiencing the strongest progression in the ranking in this category, and therefore the largest increase in the number of citations in the press.

It gains more than 1,000 places in one year.

The culture and media category is where women are best represented.

They account for 39% of personalities cited, a figure up compared to last year.
