Shortly after 4 pm on Thursday, police were alerted to the scene when a man had met a woman who was in need of help.
According to the police, the woman must have been beaten and subjected to a rape outdoors.
She was taken to hospital for treatment.
The police blocked off a place at Gillbergavägen near Fröslunda IP and carried out a crime scene investigation.
No person has been arrested and the police want to get in touch with people who moved in the area and may have information that can be linked to the crime.
