It is an original action intended to draw attention to the situation of the VAFC.

On Monday, supporters of Valenciennes, currently 17th in Ligue 2, planted real estate panels in eleven strategic places in the city.

But here, no house for sale, just a professional football club that has been struggling painfully in Ligue 2 for eight years.

“We wanted to relaunch discussions on the sale of the club.

As we do not want violence, we prefer symbolic and original actions.

I also think it's quite successful because it makes people talk and smile.

The message is getting through,” rejoices Stéphane Beaumont, spokesperson for the Ultras Roisters, one of the club's supporter groups.

They demand the departure of the current president

In front of the stadium, the training center or even the priority axes of the city, it is impossible to miss these panels which ended up being removed on Monday afternoon.

An awareness-raising operation with a clear objective: the departure of Eddy Zdziech, president of the club since 2014 and majority shareholder.

“We want him to sell his shares at a fair price and not make money on the backs of potential buyers.

But hey, today, there is no sound, no image on that side, ”continues Stéphane Beaumont.

While waiting for a hypothetical return to dialogue, supporters will continue this kind of symbolic action, the best way to find a little smile in the face of a hopeless situation.
