She pointed out that Articles 32 and 33 of the Law on Communicable Diseases, obligate the infected person with any of the infectious diseases upon knowing his injury, to go to the Ministry of Health and Community Protection and the health authorities and inform them to receive treatment and advice, and to adhere to preventive measures and adhere to the instructions, in order to prevent the transmission of infection, and be punished by imprisonment and a fine Which is not less than 10 thousand dirhams and does not exceed 50 thousand dirhams, or one of these two penalties, in case of violating the law.


It is prohibited for any person who knows that he is afflicted with a communicable and contagious disease to intentionally engage in any behavior that results in the transmission of the disease to others, and he shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not exceeding five years, and by a fine of no less than 50 thousand dirhams and not exceeding 100,000 dirhams, or one of the two penalties, In the event that this offense is committed, according to Article (39) of the law.


According to Article 31 of the Law on Communicable Diseases Control, an injured person or suspected of being injured is prohibited from traveling and moving except after the approval of the Ministry of Health, Community Protection and the health authority, and he / she shall be punished by imprisonment and a fine of no less than 10 thousand dirhams and not more than 50 thousand dirhams, or one of them.


The Ministry of Justice confirmed that the penalties stipulated in Federal Law No. 14 of 2014 regarding communicable diseases control apply to the new Corona virus "Covid 19" after it was included by the Ministry of Health and Community Protection in the list of communicable diseases formally attached to the law.


The ministry indicated that the stipulated penalties are aimed at protecting public health and enhancing the state’s efforts to implement a strategy to combat communicable diseases and prevent their spread, including the emerging Corona virus.
