On Wednesday, the umbrella will be de rigueur for a large majority of French people.

The rains will progress rapidly across the country.

At midday, they will extend from the South-West to the Grand Est and Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.

In the mountains, it will snow above 1,200 to 1,500 m altitude.

The Nord and Pas-de-Calais will remain on Wednesday placed in orange vigilance because of the floods in the Lys basin.

During the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, a more active disturbance will engulf the northwest of the country.

It will give temporary heavy rains, driven by a moderate to fairly strong southwesterly wind near the English Channel, reaching 70 to 90 km / h on the coasts, or even 100 on the Strait of Pas-de-Calais.

A possible refreezing around the massifs

On the outskirts of the massifs and in particular on the western slopes of the Massif Central, beware of refreezing with some possible slippery phenomena at the end of the night. On Wednesday, the rains will progress rapidly across the country. At midday, they will extend from the South-West to the Grand Est and Auvergne Rhône-Alpes. In the mountains, it will snow above 1,200 to 1,500 m altitude. At the rear, a more variable sky with clearings interspersed with showers will re-establish itself to the north-west. Up front, the Mediterranean regions will still benefit temporarily from a bright but increasingly hazy sky.

In the afternoon, the rainy wave will penetrate Occitania and the south-east.

It will quickly cross the perimeter of the Gulf of Lion then the PACA with a slightly more marked character in Provence.

The rains will also increase over western Corsica.

Over the rest of the country, the showers will become generalized, with a sky remaining well loaded and more frequent showers near the English Channel and from the south-west to the north-east.

The thunder may rumble locally at the seaside. The wind will still reach locally 60/70 km / h in gusts over the northeast, along the Pyrenees and on most of the shores.

Between 2 and 7 degrees in the morning

Early in the morning, the frosts will mainly affect the area around the Massif Central and Rhône-Alpes to the Languedoc and Provençal hinterland.

It will be between 2 and 7 degrees elsewhere.

During the day, maximum temperatures will reach 6 to 9 degrees from Lorraine and Alsace to Rhône-Alpes, 9 to 12 elsewhere to locally 14 on the Aquitaine coast and the Mediterranean coasts, up to 16/17 in Corsica.
