Munich (dpa / lby) - An approaching cold front brings squalls and cool temperatures to Bavaria.

While it remains dry in most parts of Bavaria in the morning, rapid rain should first reach the Danube and Central Swabia, and later Upper and Lower Bavaria, according to the German Weather Service (DWD) on Tuesday.

Stormy gusts of between 60 and 70 kilometers per hour are also expected almost across Bavaria.

In parts of Franconia and the Alps, according to meteorologists, severe gusts of wind of 90 kilometers per hour can occur.

In the northern low mountain ranges, the DWD predicts temperatures of 9 degrees, on the Inn, on the other hand, 20 degrees are expected.

The wind should subside overnight, especially in the lowlands.

For Wednesday, the DWD expects only moderate gusts with a few showers.
