A new option – and not the least – will soon arrive on WhatsApp.
Within a few months, all users of the messaging application will be able to react to messages from their interlocutors, reports
WABetaInfo
relayed by
Presse-Citron
.
The feature was long overdue.
And for good reason: all the other messaging apps have already offered it for a long time: Messenger, Telegram, Signal, Slack, and even private messages on Twitter and Instagram.
Only WhatsApp was missing for some obscure reason.
#WhatsApp is finally rolling out message reactions.
Users would be able to long-press on a message to bring up the additional floating menu for actions they can take on the message.

A gradual deployment
According to information from
WABetaInfo
, six emojis will be available to react to messages: a thumbs up, a heart, a laughing crying emoji, an astonished emoji, a sad emoji and hands clasped in prayer.
A perfect new option to react quickly to a message and show that it has been read without necessarily responding to it.
The feature is rolling out after months of developer work.
It is currently only available to a few users, beta testers of WhatsApp on Android.
After this trial phase, the option will be rolled out gradually to all users of the application.
