A tourist boat has thrown its passengers into the air after it accidentally collided with a giant humpback whale in the deep waters off the coast of Mexico.
An amateur video of a nearby boat showed the small boat rising in the air with a number of terrified passengers, after colliding with the back of a huge humpback whale, which puffed its water into the air after the collision as well.
The incident took place off the coast of Mexico during a tourist trip aimed at seeing this type of creature up close.
Five people were injured in the bizarre collision just off La Paz during a guided tour, according to the Indy100 website.
According to local reports, an investigation is underway into the incident to see if the captain misjudged, as tour boats must keep a safe distance from marine animals at all times, but it is believed that they may not have known the whale was there because it quickly ascended from the depths of the water.
