Yasiel Puig, the 'bad boy' who recently signed a contract with the Kiwoom Heroes of professional baseball, is embroiled in allegations that he secretly resolved his sexual assault crimes in 2017 while playing in the major leagues.
The Washington Post reported today (14th) that "Puig was investigated for sexual assault twice during the January 2017 Fan Fest while playing for the MLB Los Angeles Dodgers."
One woman reported that she had been assaulted while having sex with Puig until she fainted, while another woman accused Puig of entering her apartment and raping her.
The Washington Post reported that "the case was not disclosed to the public, and Puig paid the victims $325,000 to cover the case."
The media raised the issue, saying, "At that time, the MLB Secretariat and the Dodgers were aware of the incident."
Puig's agent told the Washington Post that "South American players are always the target of excessive assertions.
Puig caused many problems while playing in MLB, including being arrested for speeding in 2014.
The free-spirited Puig suffered frequent feuds with his teammates, and said goodbye to MLB at the end of the 2019 season.
He recently signed a one-year contract with Kiwoom for an annual salary of $1 million.
Puig will join the team on the first day of spring camp.
