The branch would not even have been in the season's first Diamond League competition from Monte Carlo. But after Karsten Warholm nagged and loose funding, the 400-meter hurdles ran in Monaco.
In his first start in the 400 meter hurdles for the season, the Norwegian impressed a lot. Warholm had the lead through the race but finished at a furious pace. The clock stopped at 47.10, 2.39 seconds better than the season's best and half a second better than the stadium record.
- Absolutely incomparable. 400 meter hurdles is not the easiest distance to run. It usually takes a few races before you get into it, says an impressed Alhaji Jeng, SVT Sport athletics expert.
