Because of its reservation policy, hygiene measures and various regulations, the Venice Film Festival is not making it easy for its guests this year.

Before awarding the prizes over the weekend, our film critic put together his personal favorites and disappointments:

Dietmar Dath

Editor in the features section.

  • Follow I follow

Should get the award for best film

“Competencia Oficial” by Gastón Duprat and Mariano Cohn

Could be awarded as the best film, but I didn't like it

“È stata la mano di Dio” by Paolo Sorrentino

Would definitely be worth the price

"The Power of the Dog" by Jane Campion and "The Card Counter" by Paul Schrader

The biggest crap

"America Latina" by Damiano and Fabio D'Innocenzo (What a deluded, monotonously puzzled piece of cake)

Most beautiful film this time

"Inu-Oh" by Masaaki Yuasa.

Divine, unfortunately not in the main competition, but at Orizzonti

Best Actress

Kirsten Dunst in "The Power of the Dog"

Best actor

Vincent Lindon in "Un autre monde" by Stéphane Briźé. Depressing.
