According to the Reuters news agency on the 3rd local time, the US State Department issued a statement stating that the upper limit of the validity period of the B1/B2 visa, which is a U.S. visitor visa that can be obtained by Chinese Communist Party members or immediate family members, is shortened from 10 years to 1 month.
Until now, the Chinese Communist Party, like any other Chinese, could stay in the United States for up to 10 years by obtaining a visitor visa, which means that this period has been reduced to a month.
The State Department also limited the number of times they can enter the country through a visitor visa to one.
The US State Department described the move as a way to protect the United States from the "malicious influence" of the Chinese Communist Party.
"The US has allowed the Chinese Communist Party to have unrestricted access to our institutions and industries for decades, but China has not given Americans equal privileges."
Currently, there are 92 million Communist Party members in China, and, including their families, the measure could affect about 270 million people.
