Almost a tenth of young people aged 18-24 were enrolled as unemployed when the Swedish Employment Service compiled the situation for Norrbotten in June. This is an increase of more than two percent compared to the previous year.
In general, unemployment also continues to rise during the corona pandemic. In Norrbotten, 6.7 per cent were registered as unemployed last month. It is certainly the lowest percentage in the country together with Gotland and Västerbotten County, but is also an increase of 1.2 percent compared to previous years.
Seen across the country, almost 130,000 more people are unemployed compared to the corresponding month in 2019.
