  Guterres expressed his deepest sympathy to the families of the victims and the Afghan government and people, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

He stated that the person responsible for this heinous incident must be held accountable.

  Guterres also emphasized the urgency of ending violence in Afghanistan and achieving a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

  On May 8, local time, an explosion occurred near a school in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.

The Afghan Ministry of Interior said that at least 30 people have died and more than 52 people have been injured.

According to Reuters, citing anonymous Afghan security officials, the explosion has caused at least 55 deaths and more than 150 injuries.
