“In connection with the ongoing shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by the Ukrainian armed forces, local authorities propose to stop this facility in order to avoid a nuclear catastrophe,” Ulyanov wrote in his Telegram.

Earlier, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, said that part of the building of the Ministry of Emergency Situations directly next to the buildings of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was practically destroyed after shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya stressed during a meeting of the World Organization's Security Council that in the event of a catastrophe at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, responsibility will fall on Kyiv's Western sponsors.
