Ukrainian court: Russian soldier jailed for 10 years for war crimes

A Ukrainian court has sentenced a Russian soldier in the northern city of Chernihiv to 10 years in prison for war crimes.

The soldier pleaded guilty and announced that he would appeal the ruling on his imprisonment before it became final.

In May, a Russian soldier was already sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a Ukrainian civilian, but the sentence was later reduced to 15 years.
