U.S. senator exposed to suggest sanctions against Russia

Recently, Ukraine announced that Ukraine is seeking additional military assistance from its Western allies.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba said that his country is seeking political support and agreements to "provide our military with more defensive weapons."

Ukrainian President Zelensky recently stated that Russia has assembled about 100,000 soldiers on the Ukrainian border.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin also expressed concern about Russia's military operations and anti-satellite weapons tests near the Ukrainian border, and said that Washington is not sure about Russian President Putin's intentions.

In addition, the US news website Axios also reported that the defense budget amendments considered by the US Congress showed that Robert Menendez, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the US Senate, suggested imposing sanctions against Russia in the event of an “invasion of Ukraine”.

According to reports, the amendment requires the President of the United States to impose sanctions and prohibit entry into Russia's main military and intelligence officials, and proposes to expand military assistance to Ukraine.

The amendment also proposes to impose sanctions on Russian banks and state institutions, and impose sanctions on any company or individual involved in the "Beixi-2" pipeline project.

Putin says the West has despised Russia's warnings

Approval of its exercise in the Black Sea for exceeding "all restrictions"

According to Qatar Al Jazeera’s Chinese website, Russian President Putin said in a speech to foreign policy officials in Moscow that some actions of NATO’s strategic bombers exceeded all permitted limits.

Putin added that the West "very despised" Russia's warnings about crossing the "red line" and accused the Western camp of contributing to the conflict in Ukraine by conducting Black Sea exercises and sending strategic bombers.

He said, "Our Western partners are escalating the situation by providing Kiev with modern lethal weapons and conducting provocative military exercises."

According to the Russian satellite network, Putin also called the so-called Russia's preparations to invade Ukraine as alarmism.

He said that Moscow will never agree that it is a party to the conflict in Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied some Western media reports about the assembly of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border.

Russian President’s Press Secretary Peskov said that Russia mobilizes its troops within its own borders as appropriate.

This does not threaten anyone, nor should anyone worry about it.

The Russian side also stated that the "Russian aggression" was used as an excuse to deploy more NATO military equipment near the Russian border.
