According to him, the pipes may even be dismantled to prevent the possibility of gas transit in the future.

“We are considering the scenario - even if our system works, we leave some transit capacities, then in fact Gazprom can dismantle pipes on its own territory in order to theoretically prevent the possibility of gas transit through the territory of Ukraine in the future,” he is quoted as saying RIA News.

He also added that the Russian company has already closed several compressor stations on the transit route through Ukraine as part of capacity optimization.

Earlier it was reported that Gazprom did not book a new volume of additional capacities for August for gas transit through Ukraine.
