The United Arab Emirates University confirmed that it will participate in a special pavilion during the Expo 2020 Dubai, next October.
She stated in a statement yesterday that the pavilion will feature the "University of the Future" initiative, which aims to revolutionize post-secondary education in the Arab world by 2030.
The cultural advisor to His Highness, the President of the State and the Supreme President of the University, Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, said that the university’s participation in an independent pavilion in the «Expo 2020 Dubai» comes from the importance and nature of this huge international event, which is hosted by the UAE over a period of six months, as one of the most prominent international platforms that It mainly focuses on discussing pressing issues and contemporary challenges, and developing solutions to them.
He added that among these challenges is related to the future of education, stressing the UAE University's relentless pursuit to establish a new and innovative concept of university education in the Arab world and the region.
He continued: “This participation is in line with the national strategy of the UAE, aimed at strengthening the role of the Future University to be among the best universities in the world, and achieving the vision of the national mother university in the country, which contributes to building the knowledge economy of the UAE, in excellence and leadership, by developing a system Higher education and facing the challenges of the times, which strengthens the concept of achieving sustainable development for the state ».
Nusseibeh affirmed that the university’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai will be a milestone in the university’s journey, and a unique opportunity for its students to see history being made before their eyes.
