The US Treasury Department issued an advisory on financial transactions to North Korea for the third time this year.

The Financial Transactions Enforcement Group under the US Treasury Department issued an advisory yesterday stating that virtually all financial transactions to North Korea are prohibited.

This advisory is a follow-up to the International Anti-Money Laundering Organization's decision to keep North Korea on the list of'high-risk countries' at its general meeting last month and maintain the highest level of sanctions.

If you are subject to the highest level of sanctions, all financial transactions with North Korea are virtually banned, such as prohibiting North Korean financial companies from establishing overseas offices.

The Financial Transactions Enforcement Group, along with North Korea, issued the same warning against Iran.

The Financial Transactions Enforcement Group issued financial transaction advisories to North Korea and Iran in March and July of this year as well.
