On May 16, local time, the U.S. Senate voted to end the obstruction proceedings initiated by Senator Rand Paul, which means that the Senate will launch a final vote on a $40 billion aid to Ukraine bill later this week.

The result of the vote that day was 81 votes in favor and 11 votes against.

Republican Senator Bill Haggerty, who voted against it, said he opposed aid to other countries when U.S. domestic affairs were not properly handled.

Haggerty also urged U.S. President Biden to stop the "war" against U.S. manufacturing.

On the 10th of this month, the US House of Representatives passed a $40 billion aid bill to Ukraine, but the bill has not been passed by the Senate because of Senator Rand Paul's blocking.
