An Italian woman who suffered a heart attack while pregnant with her daughter and fell into a coma (coma) has returned home after two years.

At her home, where her husband awaits, she holds her two-year-old daughter in a coma.

Italian daily La Repubblica reported on the 9th (local time) that Gabriele Suu Kyi (43) and Cristina Rossi (39) and their daughter Caterina are finally living under one roof.

On July 23, 2020, misfortune struck a couple living on the outskirts of the central Italian city of Arezzo.

Her wife Rossi, who was then seven months pregnant with her at the time, suffered a heart attack.

Her daughter, Katerina, gave birth by her cesarean section, but Rossi's heart rate monitor, which was stationary, did not move.

Her husband Suu Kyi said: "Her medical staff gave up her mother and focused only on saving her baby.

Her pulse returned, but Rossi, who suffered significant brain damage from her prolonged cardiac arrest, was induced into a coma.

After she had been in a coma for 11 months, Rossi miraculously restored her consciousness after she was taken to a well-known private rehabilitation clinic in Austria.

Her high cost of treatment was funded by her crowdfunding, as her husband Suu Kyi struggled.

Famous singer Gianna Nanini, who sang her 1990 World Cup theme song in Italy, took the lead in her fundraising campaign by spreading the story of her Rossi.

Suu Kyi introduced that "250,000 euros (about 340 million won) have been raised so far," and "a lot of people have helped. Even abroad, I got help."

"I didn't know I was going to get this much help. I'm really grateful," he added.

Rossi finally came home on the 8th and spent the night.

Amid the celebrations of the villagers and friends, Rossi hugged his daughter tightly and smiled.

'La Repubblica' said, "Rosi is still having trouble communicating with her, but when she sees her smile, she seems to know she's home."

The media introduced her husband Suu Kyi, who did everything she could to save her wife even in a hopeless situation, as a hero in Arezzo.

But Suu Kyi said, "I didn't do anything. The real hero is my wife."
