On the night of the 2nd, a fire broke out in a house in Okagaki Town, Fukuoka Prefecture, and two people were found dead in the burnt remains.

An 88-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man who live in the house have lost contact with each other, and police are proceeding with the identification of the body and investigating the cause of the fire.

Around 11:30 pm on the 2nd, a police officer on the road found a fire in the house of Aiko Sakai (88) in Teno, Okagaki Town, Fukuoka Prefecture, and reported it to the fire department.



The fire was extinguished after about five hours, but the fire burned down a wooden one-story house and two people were found dead in the burnt remains.



According to police, Mr. Sakai and his 53-year-old son live in this house, and they have lost contact with them after the fire.



Police believe that it is highly likely that the parent and child died, and are proceeding with confirmation of their identities and investigating the cause of the fire.



The site is a residential area about 5 km northwest of Ebitsu Station on the JR Kagoshima Main Line.
