Two people were injured when a helicopter crashed into the Atlantic off the Florida coast.

As the Miami Beach police said on Twitter on Saturday, there were three people on board the crashed helicopter.

"Two people were taken to the hospital," police wrote.

They are "stable".

The police released a video accompanying the Twitter post, showing the helicopter crashing into the sea not far from people lying on the beach.

The fact that the pilot was well trained helped ensure that nothing worse happened, said former US Department of Transportation Inspector General Mary Schiavo on CNN.

Apparently, the pilot was able to steer the helicopter away from the people on the beach during the crash.

The US aviation authority FAA said the cause of the crash was still unclear.

The incident will be investigated.
