The Ille-et-Vilaine firefighters were called Tuesday evening to rescue their fellow gendarmes. Shortly before 11 p.m., two vehicles following each other were involved in a road accident in Torcé, between Rennes and Vitré (Ille-et-Vilaine). When they arrived at a place called Le Mainbier, the rescue workers discovered a vehicle on the roof, having probably rolled over.

Five of the six gendarmes on board were slightly injured and transported in relative emergency to the surrounding hospitals. The sixth victim was not hospitalized. According to the first elements of investigation, the accident would have occurred after the crossing of a wild animal. The gendarmes who were in the front car would have crossed the path of a wild boar.
