Two experts in information technology expected that this year will witness a significant recovery and recovery rate in the smartphone sales sector.

He added that the sales growth came with the increased competitiveness of companies in launching new models of smart phones, especially the fifth generation, which is leading the growth of sales in the sector significantly, pointing out that sales growth at the global level exceeded the expectations of experts, as according to recent market reports, the The year is expected to close with a 6.5% growth in smartphone sales.

In turn, the technical expert and general manager of the “Task” company for technical products, Ashraf Fawakherji, expected that growth indicators in smartphone sales would continue at the end of the second quarter of this year, and that the year would end with continued sales growth at rates close to the first quarter of it, with the concentration of the largest percentages Sales in phones supporting the fifth generation, especially with the high competitiveness of companies in launching new models in more diverse categories, and the availability of good stocks in many producing companies.

He added that the growth in consumer demand for smart phones came with the support of the increasing offers of companies on the phones offered, the expansion of new models, and the return of the demand for sales outlets in greater proportions compared to last year, which was affected by the “Corona” pandemic.

Global phone sales

Data from the international market data analysis company, Strategy Analytics, revealed that the increase in smartphone sales globally, which averaged 24% in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period in 2020, is the largest in sales rates since the first quarter of 2015.

And the “South Korean company Samsung” recorded sales of 77 million phones in the first quarter of 2021, a growth of 32% compared to the same period in 2020, while the sales of “American Apple” in the same period amounted to 57 million phones, with a growth of up to 44%.

And the “Chinese company Xiaomi” recorded sales of nearly 49 million phones, a growth of 80%, at a time when the “Chinese OPPO” company achieved sales of 38 million phones, a growth of 68%, and the sales of “Vivo China” recorded 37 million phones, a growth of about 85%.
