Two deaths in a gas explosion accident in Abu Dhabi

Two people died in an accident due to gas installations in a restaurant in Abu Dhabi, where one of them was at the site and was directly affected, and the other on the opposite side died as a result of a concrete block falling on him while he was passing through the area.

Abu Dhabi Police revealed that according to field investigations, the causes of the accident were identified, which resulted from a mistake in securing the gas installations, which caused its leakage after the completion of the periodic filling process.

Abu Dhabi Police evacuated the building safely from all residents, and work is currently underway to provide temporary housing until the building is fully secured, while the rapid intervention teams of the Emergency and Public Safety Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police dealt with the accident that occurred today, Monday, in a restaurant in a building on Rashid bin Saeed Street in Abu Dhabi. It also led to minor and moderate injuries, and they were transferred to the hospital for treatment.

A report was received in the operations room this morning about an explosion in a restaurant, and immediately the rapid intervention teams moved to the Al Falah Center in the Emergency Directorate and Public Safety in Abu Dhabi Police.

Abu Dhabi Police indicated to drivers that the Hazaa bin Zayed intersection (Al Wahda Mall) with the intersection of Rashid bin Saeed Street towards the inside and the Al Falah intersection with the intersection of Rashid bin Saeed Street towards the outside have been closed due to an accident, and the vehicle drivers must take alternative roads.
