July 13, 2020 "We strongly reject the claims on Hagia Sophia" which come from abroad, which "constitute interference with Turkey's sovereignty". This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, reiterating what President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in recent days after criticism for the conversion of the symbol of Istanbul from museum to mosque.
