Tsunami-damaged tourist facility Rebuilt with hot springs Miyagi Natori Yuriage October 3, 14:06

In the Yuriage district of Natori City, Miyagi Prefecture, which was severely damaged by the tsunami caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake, a tourist facility where you can enjoy cycling and hot springs was rebuilt and opened on the 3rd.

The "Natori City Cycle Sports Center" was rebuilt, and on the 3rd, about 100 people including city officials gathered to celebrate the opening.

Before the earthquake, an accommodation facility equipped with a bicycle course was used by more than 50,000 people annually, but it was destroyed by the damage of the tsunami.

After that, in order to make it a facility that can attract customers, we raised funds by crowdfunding to excavate a natural hot spring and rebuilt it as a new tourist facility at a cost of more than 2.5 billion yen.

There is a bicycle course of about 4 km per lap, which is the same as before the earthquake, and there are accommodations with hot springs that can accommodate up to 100 people, and some rooms can bring bicycles.

The hot springs can be used for day trips, and the city is expected to become a new base for liveliness as the recovery from the earthquake progresses.

Mayor Shiro Yamada of Natori City said, "This is almost the end of the reconstruction of the hardware side. I would like the visitors to enjoy cycling and hot springs while feeling the sea breeze."
