His bravery was unanimously hailed the day after the tragedy.

Lassana Bathily, a 24-year-old Franco-Malian worker, was employed in the Hyper Cacher at Porte de Vincennes during the Islamist attack perpetrated by Amedy Coulibaly on January 9, 2015. After hiding customers in a cold room, he had managed to escape by means of a freight elevator and had helped the police to end the deadly hostage-taking.

An act that earned him a decoration and then naturalized French.

Now 30 years old, he has just testified at the trial of the January 2015 attacks.

"It's very difficult but important for us to talk about what we lived for 5 years, what we feel today", confides Lassana Bathily at the microphone of Europe 1. "It's a relief to talk about what we lived in front of the judge but it is not easy to speak in front of the defendants of the box ".
