Last year, Alexandersson won the long distance by twelve minutes and in the middle distance during Saturday's Swedish Championships in Gothenburg, she won by more than three minutes.

Before the long distance in the demanding terrain in Svartedalen's nature reserve, the question was who would be second after the super favorite Alexandersson who threw in the towel.

- Considering all disease restrictions, I wanted to take the safe before the unsafe both for my own sake but also to not risk infecting someone else in the event of an illness, says Alexandersson to Orienteringsmagasinet and continues:

- I do not think there should be any major danger.

Registered for the Lidingö race on Saturday

She is registered for the Lidingö race's 15 km on Saturday, a competition that is in the danger zone.

Tove Alexandersson had a fantastic sports year in 2019. She won five World Cup golds and two World Cup silvers in orienteering and ski orienteering.

In addition, she became a superior winner in the orienteering world cup where she won eight of nine races (lost only the final sprint in China), which was her sixth straight overall victory in the world cup.

The 28-year-old became queen of the Sports Gala in the Globe in January: She was named the 2019 best female athlete in Sweden, received the Bragdguldet and was voted up to Radiosporten's Jerring Prize.

SVT Sport has sought Alexandersson.
