THE ESSENTIAL

  • The 7th stage of the Tour de France, 176.3 km long, now links Tomblaine to the Super Planche des Belles Filles.

  • Thursday, Tadej Pogacar did well by winning at the top of the final climb in Longwy and taking the yellow jersey.

  • The Slovenian, double winner of the event, hurt the morale of his opponents but it is today that we will really know what the forces are.

  • The final climb to the Super Planche des Filles offers the first very high percentages of the Tour, with passages of more than 20% in the last kilometer.

  • Pogacar, Vingegaard, Roglic, Yates, Martinez, Thomas, Gaudu and all those who want to play the general classification are expected.

  • We would like to tell you that Thibaut Pinot, who runs on his land, will try a blow but the little prince of Mélisey will above all be at the service of his leader, David Gaudu.

9:30 a.m.: The challenges of the day

The first thrills of the great passes of the Tour de France, it's for today!

We haven't yet reached the routes punctuated by non-category summits - that's for the start of next week -, but the peloton will rush this Friday through the Meurthe-et-Moselle and the Vosges to go crush against the Planche des Belles Filles, climbed in Super mode (one kilometer extra with slopes of more than 20%), at the top of which the finish of this 7th stage will be perched.

The opportunity to see if Pogacar is definitely untouchable or if there is still some hope for the competition.

It's going to be big, we're salivating in advance.
