A preliminary investigation has been opened on suspicions of doping targeting a team of the Tour de France cycling which has just ended, the prosecutor announced Monday to AFP.
This investigation was opened by the public health center of the Marseille prosecutor's office, said prosecutor Dominique Laurens, referring to the "discovery of many health products including drugs (...) and especially a method that can be qualified as doping".
According to details provided to AFP by a source familiar with the matter, a search targeting several riders of the Arkea-Samsic team was carried out, confirming information from the Journal du Dimanche and L'Equipe.
