The Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic torch relay, which was postponed to next year, will move forward one day while maintaining the framework of the original plan such as the number of days and the torch runner, and the Olympic torch relay will be released from Fukushima Prefecture on March 25, next year. It has been decided that the Paralympics will start in Shizuoka Prefecture on August 17, next year.

On the 28th, the Tokyo Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games officially announced a new schedule for the torch relay.

The Paralympics will start in Shizuoka Prefecture on August 17, and will travel to Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo and the four prefectures where the competition venues are located. The Holy Fire Relay will be held again for 4 days.

The torch relay was considered to shorten the number of days to simplify by postponing the tournament, but at the IOC = International Olympic Committee coordinating committee held last week, each region will leave valuable opportunities related to the tournament Therefore, it was agreed to maintain the framework of the original plan, such as the number of days to be implemented and the already decided torchbearer.

On the other hand, the Organizing Committee has a policy of reducing costs other than the schedule, such as reviewing the number of relay convoys and staff and reducing the scale of events celebrating the arrival of the torch.
