The list was released on Monday.
Fifty federations have been sanctioned by FIFA due to various incidents during qualifying for the 2022 World Cup. France is one of them: the world football body has fined it a fine of 2,000 Swiss francs (1,895 euros ) because an unspecified proportion of spectators did not wear masks during the match against Bosnia-Herzegovina (1-1), on September 1 in Strasbourg.
The FFF should not risk bankruptcy after this sanction, much lighter than others.
As expected, the heaviest returned to Hungary for racist insults by its supporters and various breaches of security (use of smoke and blocking of stairs), two meetings behind closed doors, one of which was suspended, a match at the outside without supporters, and a total fine of 281,000 Swiss francs (266,000 euros).
"Discriminatory behavior"
Argentina, for its part, was fined 30,000 Swiss francs (28,430 euros) and a meeting with a "limited" gauge, not quantified for the moment, because of the "discriminatory behavior" of supporters when the Albiceleste received Uruguay.
Finally, Mexico will have to pay 100,000 Swiss francs penalty (95,000 euros) and will be deprived of the public for two matches, also sanctioned for the “discriminatory behavior” of supporters when receiving Canada and then Honduras in October.
